Customer status page

The status page tells customers whether their locations are online, how reliable they were over the last 90 days, and what is planned. It shows hosting-level facts only: customers never see internal node names.

Open Customer portal > Status page.

  1. Switch on Show the status page in the customer portal. This adds Status to the portal menu. You can hide it for single customers with the Status page portal feature.
  2. In Nodes on the status page, tick Show for each node customers should see and enter a Public name (for example “Oslo 1”). Order sorts the list.
  3. Optionally upload an Icon per node: PNG, JPG, WEBP or SVG up to 256 KB, square works best. Without one, a server icon is shown. Tick Use the default icon to remove an uploaded one.
  4. Click Save. View as customer opens the page as customers see it.
  • The state of each location: Operational while the node is online, Maintenance while its host is in maintenance mode (a node in maintenance shows Maintenance, not Outage), and Outage when it is offline or unreachable.
  • Uptime for the last 90 days as a bar per day (on phones the last 30 days, because 90 bars do not fit). It is calculated from the panel’s node samples in 5-minute steps. Times when the panel itself collected no data do not count against a node.
  • Notices and Past notices.
  • The overall state in the page header: Some systems have problems while a shown node is down, Incident in progress while an incident notice is open but every node runs, Maintenance in progress during maintenance, else All systems operational. An incident notice alone never reads as an outage.

The same locations show on the portal dashboard as Service uptime.

Use New notice to publish a message. Pick a level, enter a Title, optional Details and Starts (empty means now; a later time shows the notice as planned), then Publish.

LevelWhere it shows
MaintenanceOn the status page and in the portal top bar until you click Resolved.
IncidentOn the status page and in the portal top bar until you click Resolved.
InformationIn the Activities news on the customer dashboard only.
RoadmapIn the Activities news on the customer dashboard only.

Open notices appear under Notices with Resolved and Delete buttons. Resolved notices stay in the past list.

If you already run a status page (for example Uptime Kuma, UptimeRobot, HetrixTools or Instatus), open Source and sharing and pick Your own status page under Status page source. In Address or embed code of your status page, paste either the page address (it must start with https://) or the iframe embed code your status service gives you. Only the iframe address is kept, never the HTML. A code that has only a script and no iframe is refused with “This code runs a script but has no iframe. Paste the iframe code or the page address instead.”

Then choose how the portal shows it:

  • Open in a new tab: the portal menu item Status opens your page directly.
  • Show inside the portal: the portal page Status shows your page in a frame. When you click Save, the panel checks once whether the page allows framing (X-Frame-Options or the frame-ancestors part of its Content-Security-Policy). If it does not, the panel switches to Open in a new tab and shows the notice “This page does not allow embedding. Customers get a link that opens it in a new tab.”

If the service supports iframe-resizer, the frame grows to the height of the page. Otherwise it has a fixed height and scrolls.

Some services block framing on their main pages but allow it on a white-label or embed address. With HetrixTools, use the wl.hetrixtools.com address from its embed code instead of the normal status page address.

With your own status page, the built-in page, the public page, the embed, the badge and the notices banner in the portal top bar are switched off. Notices still show in the dashboard news. Pick NexoVirt status page (built in) to go back.

Switch on Public status page under Source and sharing and click Save. The page is then available without sign-in at https://<your panel>/status. It carries your brand (logo, name and colours from white-label branding) and shows the same data as the portal page: the overall state, open and planned notices, the nodes you ticked under their public names, their 90-day uptime and past notices. Nothing internal is shown.

  • The public page works on its own: it does not need Show the status page in the customer portal, so you can offer it publicly while the portal menu item stays hidden (or the other way round).
  • The page follows the visitor’s light or dark system setting. Add ?theme=light or ?theme=dark to the address to fix one, for example https://<your panel>/status?theme=dark.
  • Hide from search engines adds noindex to the page.
  • The data is refreshed about once a minute, and the page reloads itself every two minutes.
  • Each visitor address may load the public pages 120 times per minute.

The embed is the status page made for a frame on another website, at https://<your panel>/status/embed.

  1. Under Websites that may embed it, enter the address of every website that should show it, one per line, for example https://www.example.com. Only https:// addresses are accepted. With an empty list, no other website can embed it.
  2. Click Save. The card Embed on your website appears.
  3. Pick a Theme (Follow the visitor, Light or Dark), Compact (overall state, current notices and the node list without history) and Transparent background. The Preview shows the result.
  4. Click Copy code and paste it into your website.

The code is an iframe plus a small script, /status/embed.js, that sets the frame’s height to its content:

<iframe src="https://panel.example.com/status/embed?theme=auto&compact=1" data-nexovirt-status
title="Service status" loading="lazy" style="width:100%;border:0;height:320px"></iframe>
<script src="https://panel.example.com/status/embed.js" defer></script>

You can also build the address yourself: theme=light|dark|auto, compact=1 and transparent=1.

Only the embed may be framed, and only by the websites you listed: it is sent with Content-Security-Policy: frame-ancestors 'self' <your websites>. Every other page of the panel keeps refusing to be framed.

While the public page is on, https://<your panel>/status/badge.svg is a small badge with your brand name and the overall state (for example “NexoVirt | operational”, or degraded, maintenance or outage; degraded = an open incident while every node runs) for websites and READMEs. Long brand names are shortened. Copy badge code copies a linked image:

<a href="https://panel.example.com/status"><img src="https://panel.example.com/status/badge.svg" alt="Service status"></a>

Changes to these settings are recorded in the audit log as status.settings.
